Has anyone got any experience/knowledge on modding a turbo deisel engine.
I have an R reg Escort TD van. I believe it has the TDX engine (was told that when sold it) Its got a full body kit /stainless exhaust and 20 spoke rims , so the exterior looks ok, but I was thinking about having a play with the engine.
I do a lot of motorway driving in it and to say its slow is an understatement. The lower gears are ok but as soon as I hit 4th and 5th and go anywhere near a hill , it slows down and only manages about 65mph.
I've heard you can turn up the fuel pump and turbo , is this easy to do ?
Is it possible or even worth fitting an induction kit and a dump valve or am i best just living with it as it is.
