M8 i had this with my saff 4x4.

Went down the route of changing everything and even removed the rack. On stripping it down it was perfect so really went to town on it after that and found that the O/S ball joint was Łucked. The play never showed up with the usual checks, only if you stuck a screw driver in between the the hub and TCA
