good old haynes says smooth in the block and grooved in the cap.
I see what u mean about the haynes manual...but then if u read the escort haynes manual it has no mention of this. The fiesta one does state CVH/PTE so im wondering if theres a mix up on that because a FRST and ERST engine are near on identical.
