Depends how far you want to go. You can use the autoglym engine bay cleaner first and clean it off with water.
If you want the concours look its bits off, clean, repaint and then replace.

As above but if this is the gfirst time you've ever cleaned the bay and it's filthy, Gunk will clean everything off. Be careful is it's petroleum based so you won't be able to just polish straight over the top. That won't work........
