Right, I finally got intouch with the bloke who does the coating. I asked him a few questions.

Would you require the piston being removed from the rod??

the piston can be coated without it being removed from the rod

If i decided to have my pistons done, Could I bring them to you as nottingham is only 30 miles from here??

Would I beable to run a higher C/R with a turbo if I used this coating??

yes the coat should allow a higher boost pressure or compression ratio to be run the main benifit in using a coating like this is to increase strenth of the piston to help protect against detonation

if u put a coating on top of the piston it will also raise the compression???

No the coating is designed to be applied very thin and will have no apprecible effect on the static comppression ratio
