Years ago on my S2 I added a second relay in parallel so each relay is only seeing half the current draw of the fuel pump. I did that after me and all me mates went to Southend on a particularly sunny summer sunday. As usual the traffic was chocka down the seafront and the realy threw a spack. The only way to keep the car running was to take the cover off the relay and hold the contacts shut with me fingers. My fingers almost melted off cos the relay was so damn hot!
