37090 37/0.90 25 9.2mm 170 £2.39
61090 61/0.90 40 11.3mm 300 £3.92

Also,

I plan to earth the battery locally in the boot using an earting strap, what size should this be? Bigger the better?

I will earth the existing negative terminals locally under the bonnet and then connect the new positive cable up to the existing terminals under the bonnet [solder them togehter].

Should I add any fuses anywhere? What size?

Does this sound ok? I'm no wiring expert!!
Sounds ok to me....the problem is voltage drop hence bigger the better...not sure what ur planning on running...amps, lights etc and cranking obviously draws a lot of current....generally the bigger the cable with more strands handles current better.....like gareth says...double insulated fork lift truck is good...battery cable as per VWP is ok...I use welding cable available from our local electrical wholesaler which is double insulated......earth loacally with a decent earth braid as per that page....i prefer the flat stuff...but again either will do.....I prefer to crimp rather than solder joints but you'll need a decent set of industrial crimpers for the terminals (a nice friendly electrician should be able to oblige)

No need to fuse ur battery..

To join the lives under the bonnet i'd use an insulated post....or an 8mm exhaust hanger (two 8mm studs with the rubber between to prevent it shorting).....then shroud the point where the termnals join....

HTH...
