rapidcossie You've got the right idea The material used is superb.

As you may know that material is available in three types:
Single sided
Double sided
Double sided with a ceramic layer sandwiched within = (f**king expensive!).

I was sent some post card sized samples by the manufacturer - one of each type.

Not a scientific test by any means - but a real eye opener:

Got a slice of frozen bread and put in on the grill (gas grill on maximum heat), timed how long it took to go brown (the usual brown colour for toast)........it took 46 seconds.

Then did the same test (again used a slice of frozen bread) with the single sided material directly on top of the frozen slice of bread:
It took 5 minutes to go brown......

And again with the double sided material: 8 minutes to go brown.

Then the ceramic stuff: The bread would NOT go brown in fact is stayed frozen for about 1 minute - I gave up after 12 mins........carefully lifted off the material (use tongs), the bread was still white, and was only slightly warm to the touch!
