I can't believe some of the comments by the usual MAD crew

. I don't usually post on these kind of threads, as it isn't worth it, but IF you think that it wasn't ABSOLUTELY
ESSENTIAL for the crank to be completely tested after such a catastrophic failure, then you are stupid personified.
The fact that the crank IS true is down to the strength of the crank, BUT it had to be checked. Failure to do so would have been down-right negligent on an engine of such value (the new one), especially given the stresses it would and has been put to.
So instead of snide digs, think for yourselves for once in your life and just congratulate Rod on the luck he has had that the crank wasn't banana shaped given what happened to the block....
I salute Mark for being man enough to back down and realise the potential for another catastrophic failure, if the crank had been mullered in the failure of the block
