i wouldn't to risk driving it to far, if you have breakdown cover you could take the chance & see how you get on. it was driven to London from Devon last week & was fine, went pear shaped a few days later & drove ok a couple of days after that deffo an auto box problem.
as for price, its worth about a grand without the problem, i've been told about £500 to supply & fit a s/h box, so if i can get near to £500 for the car as it is i'd be happy. make an offer!
