Hi i am new to all this forum stuff but here goes . A work colleague had a 1.6 estate and he said he anly got 27 mpg back and fore to work was a bit better on a run . I had a 1.6 festa si drivng it like miss daisey got 35 out of it . 2 mate at work have 1.8 gti and the one reckons he can get 35 out it but i am no sure on that one . Whats your driving style like . you say the engine is lazy . Are the filters new plugs clean new old , do they have the right gap your cat may be blocked . if your engine cant breath then you will use fuel i hope you sort it or your can by a diesel and run it on veggie oil like i do but thats another story ?
