Why dont they put them up where power stations are positioned, its not rocket science?
Its not as simple as that. I work for a consultancy that does a lot of wind feasibility work. There are actually very few places in the UK that are suitable. As someone said above, the wind speed has to be over 6m/s to make a turbine financially viable. The planning process is quite rigourous though, so I'd take the opportunity to make your feelings known if you are that much against them. I'd also spend a bit of time doing some research as I think you'll find they are not as bad as you think
