Hi all,

Ive had a bit of bother recently.

I only use the cos ( 89 Saph ) every 2-3 weeks for a week or so and just today i started the car, which was fine but as i fired up the lights the car started to die even when i tried to rev it.

Would this be an alternator problem or a battery problem?

Ive had to jump it on most occasions after leaving it for 2 weeks but once its been started have never had a problem like this.

Ive thought this might be the alternator but the car has only covered about 25k in the 4 years.

Should an alternator pack in this easily, this ones only done around 5k and is a year old?

Ive went through 4 batterys and 2 alternators + 1 alternator regulator in 4 years. Each time it displayed different symptoms though.

Each battery was a new Motorcraft item and the alternator's have been Lucas parts.

Any ideas guys?
