I have just taken my block in for machining, the car used oil but run great and compression was ok and even, but when block checked has 0.008" wear in the bores, so at least i have found my problem, so don't presume all ok if it passes compression test. Although this is not the case with a newly built engine, but 750 miles seems a short milage maybe not all bedded in yet.
