The PE 1.9 System 2 conversion is pretty handy - although its not all good news
I think they used to make 135bhp (I'm assuming its a normally aspirated version as you dont mention otherwise) Torque on them is great of course with the larger capacity.
There were quite a few issues with reliability of the turbo ones due to PE boring them out to jsut past the recommended tolerances. They used to use liners pressed in to strengthen the block but they sometimes cracked in high boost applications. After some years they dispensed with the liners so it depends when your system 2 conversion dates from.
The long stroke can make the engine a bit under square so not too revvy although with all the torque you dont need to thrash the pants off it - you can offset this to some degree with cam selection tho.
If your engine has the PE stg3 head and SX428 cam then you're in luck as their head and cams come highly recommended. Whip off the dizzy and see if the cam has SX428 stamped on the end.
