Default Halogen Lighting Question......

Regarding Mains Voltage GU10 lighting.

We have lots of 50w GU10 Bulbs around our home, some are controlled by Soft-start dimmers and some aren't. We have hardly replaced any bulbs. Infact in 2 years, I should think we have done 2, maybe 3 bulbs.

However, our Bathroom has 35w GU10's and we are changing them like they are going out of fashion. We have tried several different makes and even more expensive ones don't seem to last any longer.

What could be causing this?

I know a Soft-start Dimmer would be a good move and we will fit one, but we have the 50w bulbs in rooms without dimmers and they are fine. Are these 35w GU10's known for being weaker?
