ok mate the eec iv +eec v ecu runs of few main sensors 1coolant temp sensor found on top of thermostat housing -round plug -take out sensor put it on multi metre on 2 pins / i am not taking the piss put the sensor in the fridge get as close to 0 degrees use thermometor, check these figures with yours

COOLANT TEMP SENSOR

0 = degrees 88000 ohms - 102000 ohms (in fridge)
40= degrees 15000 ohms - 17000 ohms (put under arm pit)
80= degrees 3000 ohms - 4500 ohms (put in glass of hot water)

INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR

10 = degrees 62000 - 70000
40=degrees 15000 - 17000
80=degrees 3000 - 4500

also your oxegen sensor (LAMBDA SENSOR) BUY A NEW 1 NOT FROM FORD

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR

ON FACE OF INLET MANIFOLD L/H SIDE USUALY

take plug of you should see 3 pins running vertical
messure between top and bottom pin
about 400 - 6000 ohms aprox

next have some1 in the car and check no throttle between pins mid and bottom are about 0.5 - 1volt
keep on the same pins and open throttle you should see the figures move up between 4.3v-4.8volts is good>

this will save you some money

OR IF YOUR LOADED GO OUT AND BUY ALL NEW SENSORS

OH AND GO TO LOCAL GARAGE ASK TO PUT CAR ON RAMP AND CHECK CAT JUST HIT IT WITH YOUR HAND ,IF THERES NOISE INSIDE REPLACE IT.
HOPE THIS HELPS TOMMY

WE COULD DO WITH SOME MORE INFO ASWELL MATE LIKE DOSE CAR BACK FIRE SPLUTTER ETC
