What I don't get is that the ordinaty muslims (non-extremists) keep saying that they don't condone what is being said and done.

Why don't they sort it out between themselves, apologise profusely and leave us out of it

I don't see any efforts from the muslim community to help get rid of al-qaeda, expulse the extremists back to their own country, etc... ?

The west keeps getting blamed for not understanding the real problems, the religion, etc... surely, someone who DOES understand it fully would be able to resolve the issue better, faster and with a lot less aggro for everyone else
