If you time the cam correctly you would se power gains with a performance cam shaft. The standard camshaft is the same in every 1.6l carb and mfi. It's a compromise between tick over, drivability and top end. The top end is not as good as on a performance camshaft which has the top end as a priority. A special ignition map is not needed.
