Do your speakers have power? Did you turn the mains off for the speakers? In iTunes options, check the sound enhancer and crossfade plyback. Maybe these have changed, try changing the options for them and you might get sound.

Sounds daft, but look and see if the volume slider at the top is not all the way to the left, as this means you'll get no sound either
