For anyone who is interested, here are the revised regs for the Fiesta Challenge....
SDMC Fiesta Challenge Supplementary Regulations
These are merely supplementary, all RACMSA regulations must also be applied.
Engine - must be based in the Ford 957, 1117 or 1119cc engine. Maximum rebore + 0.060". Camshaft, pistons and crankshaft are unrestricted. Cylinder head is unrestricted but must retain standard size valves. Air filter and exhaust system are unrestricted but original exhaust manifold must be retained. Fuelling, either by carburettor or fuel injection must be by the standard method, i.e. original carburettor on original manifold. Cooling system is unrestricted. Engine mounts are unrestricted. No forced induction is permitted.
Suspension and Steering - Unrestricted but must retain the original system of springing.
Transmission – Must retain the original front wheel drive layout. No straight-cut gears or limited slip differentials permitted.
Brakes – Unrestricted.
Electrical – Wiring, lamps and instruments are unrestricted but functioning alternator and starter motor must be fitted.
Interior - Modification to soft interior trim is unrestricted.
Bodywork – Must be based on a standard Ford Fiesta body type, any model permitted. Steel bonnet, doors and tailgate must be retained. No drilling or lightening of the shell is permitted. All glass can be replaced with Perspex of minimum 4mm. The windscreen, if glass, must be laminated. A roll cage and sump guard are recommended. Vehicles must be of presentable appearance.
Wheels and tyres - Must be max 13" x 4.5" steels with max 155 section tyres.
