I deal with the youth justice system and understand some of it's complexities. When you have a young person like this who has some serious mental issues locking them up will only make their issues more serious. They don't get to live it up but they are given mentoring and pushed in the direction of reparative justice while they are at an age it can have lasting effects. For instance a lad like this would probably be councelled and assessed to see what his mental issues are and if their is potential will probably have to work with animals under strict supervision to try and repay what he has done.

It's all a bit nicey nicey I admit. But murdering people is too a medival solution imo and I don't want to pay for someone to be in jail for the rest of their life only to come out and murder someone.
