About time too + they will reduce their emissions by 75% by 2025.
Did he actually say that?? I don't think so. Anyone knows that that kind of reduction is totally impossible. I think the Kyoto treaty is only aiming to reach a reduction of 5%.

What he actually said was:
"new technologies will help us reach another great goal: to replace more than 75% of our oil imports from the Middle East by 2025."


Also, another thing he said which I found interesting was:
"America is addicted to oil, which is often imported from unstable parts of the world. The best way to break this addiction is through technology."

Now I disagree totally on this, and too be honest, its typical Bush to come out with a solution like this. Technology is a long term solution. Its going to take bloody ages for ppl to adopt electric cars, especially in USA, and hydrogen fuel cells are still a distant dream. The best way to break this addiction is through energy saving. Just use less of it you gas guzzling Americans! Bush could have said that, he could increase petrol taxes, but that wouldn't be very popular now would it?
