the top pictures are the ice warning temperature sensor it mounts on the front of the lower crossmember (the one behind the front bumper), but doesn't really matter.

the bottom pic? this wire comes from the starter motor, or goes to the starter motor? sorry, i don't properly understand the question? the only connections that look like that as far as i can remember are the temp sender on the cylinder head, or more likely the oil pressure switch that is screwed into an adaptor on the turbo oil feed hose near to the starter motor.

what's your question on the brake cylinder earths? there are a couple of brown earth wirse that bolt to the hydraulic brake unit. these wires are part of the abs loom and are the earths for the abs motor and pressure switches and stuff. does that help you?
