erm... its very very very rare to get whiplash from a side on collision. infact whiplast from a rear end shunt is highly unlikey. people just assume cos theyre got a sore neck from the jolt that its whiplash... but i could try and find some stuff to say that due to the angle of impact and speed of collision the chances of her actually having whiplash are zilch. i know she will claim anyway but u could always point it out.
did u know that since the whole american claiming whiplash thing came out the rate of whiplash cases claimed in accidents has increased 300%...
and in eastern europe there isnt even a word for whiplash
and infact its not a medically recognised condition as such, its WAD, whiplash associated disorder...
all it is is when u have a fast impact on a car or whatever, because there is nothing stopping you from ur head going back if ur headrest isnt fitted right, then its down to ur ligaments, tendons and muscles etc to hold it so they get stretched.. but u dont know u have whiplash till hours, or days after... from the side or the front u have the restriction of ur chin on chest or ear on shoulder...
fucking annoying i hit someone once and didnt even dent my car and 6 months later they had made a claim through one of those silly tv ad programmes that promote claiming with their own doctors who will say u have whiplash, regardless of the fact u cant diagnose it that late after... its all bollocks they claimed £12,000 between 2 of them...
fair do's people say its the done thing and its ur kind of compensation for a shunt.. its bollocks... if ur fine then count ur lucky stars...
sorry to hear it hun, rant over
