crank possition sensor query
hi guys/gals...
Just a quick 1, the car i have is a 3 door coinverted to 4wd with a escos 200 block engine in it...it has a crank sensor bracket and obviously the wrong sensor for the bracket so it's been spaced back loads to compensate.
I've been told that the crank pos sensor is meant to be set at 0.4 -1.0mm so maybe if its not spaced right could this cause it to (when warm) give off a weak signal as my cars playing up (dying out at 4-5k rpm) when warm...its fine when cold though :S
I'm just thinking that the car could rely on the phase sensor upto a certain rpm? and when hot cant cope/give a signal to ecu so is cutting out? or does the ecu need both crank pos and phase sensor to run?
Cheers
Dan
