Hello Stu and welcome to this strange place

I have a question for you if you dont mind please....

I know that these alarms should be fitted by a competant person but
what about people like myself who are VERY knowledgable with
electronics and wiring.

Is it possible to buy this equipment and fit myself ?

The reason I ask, is I already have a CAT1 fitted but its not the
best thing you can get and is a bit intermittent sometimes.
I have done ALL the work on my car myself the last 7 years and if I am
honest I dont trust ANYONE else but me to work on my heap anymore.
(No disrespect to yourself)
This was after a local firm fitted an alarm to my mums car and the
technician decided to keep an extra fob to himself and came back a few
weeks later and stole the car (was caught out by pure chance)

If it is possible to fit myself would this void the CAT1 status even if I could
prove my electronics competance ?

Thanks
