No,
I use cucusoft DVD (i think, i'll have to check the exact name) which converts all formats to dvd
If I take the preview feature off it takes about 15 mins to encode, and then burns across in about 10 mins @ 10x on my burner in Nero.
As for backing up a dvd, I use Nero to create an Image of the disc using the image recorder, and it saves it to the drive. Does it in about 5 mins.
I split eddie murphy's delerious into 2 files for vcd in about 10 mins
Back in the early day's of doing this, the whole process took about 4 hours, but nowaday's it really shouldn't, unless you have a really slow burner.
Obviously the faster the cpu and the more memory you have available, the quicker it goes
