Seriously though - about 15 minutes to convert a 41/42 minute episode of Lost into DVD format using WinAVI
I'd get version 6.3 though as the newer versions apparently have issues with the encoding (audio and visual glitches).

It shouldn't be that slow - 2.8gHz P4 chip, 1.5gb RAM.... Should be fairly quick
