Language has (in the post war period anyway) always been a line of social demarcation and a barrier to aspiration. Its not something that has just developed, or that has gotten any worse. Its just changed form. Plus, most of the developement of a kids language code happens at a very young age, well before peers, or rappers, have a chance to influence them.
