"Hardware address"......otherwise known as a MAC address.
But yes, I'd lock the router down to MAC addresses, all of which should be pretty easy to find out for your own machines. Then, anyone who tries to connect with a MAC address not on that list doesn't get a wireless-connection (not easily, anyway).
