Does your router give out IP addresses via DHCP? Can you not just disable DHCP on your router, and use static ip addresses on your router + PC / PDA?

Open a command prompt on your PC (start \ run\ cmd ) then type in "ipconfig /all" , make a note of your MAC address (physical address), then go into your router and set it so only this MAC address can use it.
