Thanks Folks. Have spoke to another 16i Guru locally who said he is adamant the car just need setting up properly. He said much the same and said to make sure the right plugs are in it with right gap. Clean/Replace AIr Filter/Idle screw/Throttle Housing and adjust mixture etc.... I'll keep u posted.

Also, have problem when starting when hot but suspect it is just the starter motor. SOmeone else i know had a 16i that would only start from cold till he replaced the starter. Sound FAmiliar anyone ???
