You might be able to connct to your works network depending on how it's setup. You may have to specifiy an IP address on the laptop, and also connect to the workgroup / domain. There's a chance that all users are setup on the server, so you may not just be able to plug one in and connect. If you was able to connect successfully, there is a chance that the same restrictions would apply.

I would also be wary of doing it, in case they see it as an act of gross misconduct, which some firms do
