running on a treadmill is sooooo boring though.

all you do is think about how hard it is rather than how well youre doing or how far it is to end of the road.

but as said... trainers... very very very important. run in your normal regular ones just the once and you'll kill the next day and think it was the running.... it wasnt it was the trainers! lol

IMO dont need to be mega expensive ones - just the right design, quite strudy suits me with a thick rigid sole. I paid £30 for my puma cell or whatever they are called. and apart from a blister after doing the great north run they have been pretty good.

the fashion tennis puma spiked things I normally wear for the gym kill me if I run in them any distance.

agree with trying to find a lap to do and driving it - I done exactly this.
had a few courses....

one was 1.5 mile... and depending how I felt did up to 4 laps.
another route was 3.5 miles there and then I run back so 7 in total. used to take just under an hour.
