Okay Im not 100% sure BUT

1.I'd refit it the CORRECT way because if the belt jumps off any pulley the head will get 8 bent valve's += BIG repair bill for you!!

2 The pump may turn the wrong way with the belt on wrong and you could get overheating problems.

So if I wqas you I'd refit the belt on correrctly.Regards Micky
