But if you paid £1000 for an engine rebuild total, then it counts if it's on the itemised receipt. But not if you fitted parts yourself or paid a garage £30 (for example) to fit a stereo.

Yes..and Yes: as long as you have a receipt. If not, you could add it as a note. I made up a list of the BIG pay-outs then attached receipt copies to the back. One of the items didn't have a receipt so I still added it to the list as it was a big chunk of money toward prooving what you've spent to justify a particular value. If you paid cash for a respray (didn't get a receipt) then tell them the respray was £x but you've lost the receipt.

If you have any doubts: give them a call and ask them to clarify it.
