no they cant. unless you have a player that supported them (i've got a KISS DP-450)

you can convert the file to DVD format, and then burn it tho

try a program called WinAVI (do a google) its the fastest ive found. should take about 2 hours to convert a movie to DVD format. the just use nero or something to burn it to DVD-Video
