ok sorted it - wasnt thinking.

I had a vague memory that what the haynes said was a crock of shit. The mk4 isnt held on by a sheer bolt, its sweated on a taper.

Anyway, after getting a better look, it turns out that the outer coloum has been twisted at the bottom, and the lower bracket where it bolts on to. Taken outer column off, and got a new on this eve. That leaves the bracket to straighten - Dad will havea go for me as tom im at work - gettin lift in off the boss.

Got a new dogs bollocks alarm ordered too. Hope to drive it to totb, then it'll be run in and i can start adding the boost....
