once you see the pretty pictures it all makes sense
There are other methods that people use like getting someone else to hold the gearstick in 4th position and then selecting 4th on the box and tightening it up, however as MK3's (Series 1's) have a push down gate for reverse i found this method hard, works ok for MK4's as they have the reverse gate in the box.
