With regards to value find similar cars for sale and get the cuttings and send them to the insurer to proove the cars value. When our 2i was written off the cheeky buggers offered us £700 for it after a row and some stroppy letter threatening to call the insurance obudsman they kindly sent a cheque for £2500.

Don't take any of their shit and accept nothing verbally.
