Paul,
Is your clutch pedal quite heavy in use? If so, then the nylon rachet may be damaged and would need replacing.
I have a standard rachet (94 Es Cos) being used with an Alcon paddle/std cover plate, and as this is no heavier than a standard clutch I have had no problems with the actual rachet.
However, if your turbo heat shield is not protecting the clutch cable properley, then the inner cable will rub the damaged outer part and the chutch will feel heavy - and may wear/break the rachet. In this case the cure would be a new cable + lots of reflective heat lag around the cable where it passes near the turbo, new rachet also a new turbo heat shield may be needed.
Ultimate cure is to get Martin Hadland to convert your car to hydralic clutch opperation.........not too expensive - I may take that route soon
