Default TFT Monitor Buying... whats a good+bad one?

ok i wanna get myself a slatscreen monitor as i got feck all space on me desk and my big chunky monitor is taking up the majority of it...

i fancy something 17"+ as i'm used to largeish monitors, dont fancy a 14 or a 15 incher

i dont wanna buy a silly expensive one, but i also dont wanna buy cheap crap... buy cheap, buy twice n all that...

so what are good ones and what are ones to avoid? are there any technologies etc. to AVOID?

i dont fancy the kind that looks whitewashed, or you have to look at from a specific angle to see the fooker... i basically want CRT performance in a nice slimline screen

also it needs to do 1280x1024 as this is the res i work in...

also i do play games ocasionally so dont fancy something that goes very blocky if run at lower resolutions, but this isnt the end of the world...

also since i got a digital output on the back of my GFX card (its a geforce 5200 fx jobbie) i may aswell get one that has a digital input... altho i dunno what advantages this has

so... rudester, gra etc. ideas?
