Well, I personally would return the board and the chip for direct replacements.

When I got my AMD Xp3200 chip, it failed, and took the board with it (unknown to me), so I bought another chip, and put it on the board (didn't work), so I sent the new chip back and the board.

New board arrived, but original chip on, and surprise surprise, no joy.

Sent both back, and received 2 new one's and all ok.

Whole process left my machien out of action for about 6 weeks
