To be fair M8 if you aint sure what to look for when buying something like this then you should take someone you know along who dose. Its Nothing to be ashamed of as there are lots of areas on these things that need checked out. Generally price reflects condition and if its cheap then expect SOME work.

To be honest with you it dosent look that bad for an escort, i have seen much worse. I know its a pi$$er when you travel to get a car and it turns out to be not what you expected but as said above these things are knocking on for 15yrs old now.

Stick it into your local garage and get them to weld it up and get the thing dripping with waxoil, that should keep the dreaded rust bug at bay.

Dont be put off with it just look at it as an excuse to improve the car and bring it up to your standards.

Remember dont be afraid to ask as there is always someone willing to help out. If you wernt so far away id offer to do the welding for you.
