Sorry if I confused you about taking out the inserts to check for the damper ratings Spadge.

Of course to remove the complete strut you would just do it in the normal way

The restrictors my mate makes in the lathe for his cars are always done to a sweat fit. We have to heat up the housing to get them in then let it cool down around it afterwards. If it wont come out it could have been done like that
