it was nearly same my mate,
( was unemployed at the time)
i happily said i'd fit him a Turbo engine and 6 speed box in his 1800 astra gsi, said £200 if u help and £250 if u dont, plus parts.he was happy with that. ( bearing in mind Tuning companys want in excess of £1300 labour)
well i went and bought a gearbox with him, (he payed for it) but kept it in my garage, then went an bought an engine wich came with a box, so he's got a surplus box now in my possesion.
we came to the aggreement i'd sell the box for him at a later date.
So he buggered off on holiday while i took old engine out n fitted new 1. took me 2 days n 2 nites after work, got it up and running sweet first turn of key and drove it. came back took his car and cus he's a mate said i'd let him pay at end of week, he dint have it, got to use money to pay for exhaust ect, so i said give it me next week, end of week come, gotta pay insurance ect, so this went on for 2 months of him saying he still dint have the money (remember im still unemployed with no income) i guy offered me £200 for the spare box, so i phoned my mate up n told him, he said dont sell it for less than £230 so i said i'd sell it for that then,
went and sold it, 3 weeks later and i dont here a dicky bird from him about this money, so just forgot about it,
I did a 0-100-0 ect day at brunters, on the top speed run my 6th gear spat it self threw the back of my gearbox, within an hour of me arriving home it was on the bench in the garage.
Later that nite this "mate" of mine had "herd" on the grapevine that my gearbox had gone and i was gunna use his, so i get an abrupt phonecall from him, hello, cuming to pik my gearbox up, told him that i'd sold it ect, and he told me to sell it, so this so called mate threatened to come up and knock me out in front of all his mates ect, so i told him to cum up n we'll sort it out if he wants to be like that.
came to my door, n he just talked like normal gettin bit hairrased at times, just sayin he wants his money for gearbox, so i said i'd give it him if he pays me for doing the conversion, i then said in the end just call it quits then. but sorted it out and he buggered off,
