I've ground to a halt, in clouds of tyre smoke, on two occassions.. BOTH for exactly the same reason..

I overtook a 'slow' driver, over the speed limit granted, but as safely as safe, and yet they felt the need to 'tell me off' by flashing...

Both times, i've stood on the brake before realizing what i'd done.. !!! (After checking all my mirrors obviously).. I can't explain it either.. Altho, I wouldn't DREAM of getting out... Just STOPPED... dead.. !!

Not proud, like you, but it was EXACTLY the same thing..
