Can't get it off the hard disk as far as I know, it's a proprietary format and nobody that I know of has managed to get anything off it.

Best bet is to get a DVD recorder, but, some programmes (mainly films and per per view stuff) are macrovision protected, meaning the recording on vhs or dvd will be crap, if at all viewable.
