I would say as his dad is 61 year old i would think a PDA would be a bit to much teche to work out, But as TOM TOM is a stand alone Unit it would be best for him.
PC World is the best that is where i got mine from.

Fair comment, but he doesnt have to know the PDA inside out, its just as simple to work out how to use Tom Tom on a PDA as it is on the stand alone unit... Then gives him the potential to learn more if required....
